There are Two Methods of Scaring Birds
1. STARTLE REACTION SCARERS
Startle reaction scarers such as Disco Balls and reflective tape are generally inexpensive and easy to deploy. Sonic devices such as propane canons or squawkbox distress devices are expensive and can be annoying for neighbours.
2. INSTINCTIVE SCARERS
Instinctive scarers include the Vigilant HeliKite, Lightweight HeliKites and Hawk Kites. They are far more powerful, because they exploit birds instinctive fear of overhead hovering hawks. They are more effective in terms of area covered and long-term effect. Unlike sonic distress devices they can be used 24/7. These kites are very effective to rid an area of seagulls, starlings, pigeons and terns.
